Sautéed Shrimp with Hennessy Butter Sauce 🦐🔥🥃
Ingredients (for 2 to 3 people)
For the shrimp:
400 g of raw shrimp (large, peeled, and deveined)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
For the Hennessy butter sauce:
3 tbsp butter
3 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
2 tbsp honey
60 ml (1/4 cup) Hennessy cognac
1 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for a spicy kick)
1 tbsp lemon juice
Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Cook the shrimp:
In a bowl, season the shrimp with olive oil, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Heat a pan over medium-high heat, add the shrimp, and cook for 1 to 2 minutes on each side until they turn pink and slightly golden. Remove from the pan and set aside.
2. Prepare the Hennessy butter sauce:
In the same pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in the honey, Hennessy cognac, soy sauce, and cayenne pepper (if you want some heat). Let it simmer for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring, until the sauce thickens slightly and becomes glossy.
3. Coat the shrimp and serve:
Return the shrimp to the pan and toss them generously in the sauce. Add the lemon juice and cook for another minute to allow the flavors to meld. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.
Serving Suggestions:
Serve with basmati rice or coconut rice to soak up the flavorful sauce.
Pair with mashed sweet potatoes for a sweet and creamy touch.
Grilled vegetables like asparagus or crunchy green beans work great as sides.
Enjoy with a Hennessy Ginger cocktail or a dry white wine!
